Check your syllabus first. Confirm the Economics books prescribed for your year in the latest syllabus from the Board of Secondary Education, Madhya Pradesh (MPBSE) or your school. This site is independent and is not connected to MPBSE, NCERT or CBSE.
NCERT Economics books in English and Hindi
NCERT publishes each Economics book in English and Hindi with the same chapters. Hindi-medium students can read a chapter page here in English alongside their Hindi textbook, because the chapter numbers and section order match. Use the table to find the English page for your Hindi book.
| Class | English title | Hindi title | Chapters |
|---|---|---|---|
| 11 | Indian Economic Development | भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था का विकास | 10 |
| 11 | Statistics for Economics | अर्थशास्त्र में सांख्यिकी | 8 |
| 12 | Introductory Microeconomics | व्यष्टि अर्थशास्त्र – एक परिचय | 6 |
| 12 | Introductory Macroeconomics | समष्टि अर्थशास्त्र – एक परिचय | 6 |
Key terms in English and Hindi
Examiners accept the standard Hindi term or the English term in brackets. Learning both helps Hindi-medium students read English reference material and helps English-medium students follow Hindi news on the economy. These pairs come from Class 12 Macroeconomics Chapter 2.

Hindi-medium students should use the term printed in their own NCERT Hindi textbook where it differs.
Using Madhya Pradesh data in your answers
A state's version of GDP is Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP): the value of final goods and services produced within the state in a year. It is measured with the same value added method you learn in Class 12. Madhya Pradesh publishes its estimates through its Directorate of Economics and Statistics and in the state Economic Survey.
A short, sourced state example can make an answer stand out, as long as you name the source and year. Good places to look:
- Madhya Pradesh Economic Survey, presented with the state budget each year, for GSDP, sector shares and per capita income.
- Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Madhya Pradesh, for district-level income estimates.
- The Union Economic Survey at indiabudget.gov.in, for comparisons across states.
Agriculture carries a large weight in Madhya Pradesh, which makes the state a useful case study for Class 11 chapters on rural development and employment. Dr. Shrivastava's own research includes a paper on social infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh, summarised on the research page.
Questions from Madhya Pradesh students
Can MP Board students use these chapter pages?
Yes, if your school prescribes the NCERT Economics textbooks for Class 11 and 12. The pages follow the NCERT chapter order, so they match your book. Always confirm the current syllabus with MPBSE or your school.
Is there a Hindi version of this site?
Not yet. Pages are in English, with Hindi equivalents for key terms on this page. Because NCERT's Hindi and English books share the same chapters, you can read a page here next to your Hindi textbook.
Who reviews the content, and where is the site based?
Every page is reviewed by Dr. Anamika Shrivastava, a PhD economist based in Bhopal who studied at Barkatullah University. The site is an online reference only and offers no in-person or paid services.
